# Counselling

> **Quick answer.** KC Overseas Counselling provides one-on-one guidance for choosing the right country, course, and university based on your profile, budget, and career goals. Our certified counsellors have placed students across 1200+ institutions in 30+ countries over 25+ years.

Personalised, no-cost first consultations to map your destination, course, and budget. We work with you across the full timeline - not just the application window.

## What's included

- Academic and budget assessment
- Destination + course shortlisting based on profile fit
- University recommendations (3-6 per shortlist)
- Test prep planning (IELTS / PTE / GRE / GMAT timing)
- Application timeline mapping with intake-specific deadlines
- SOP and LOR review
- Scholarship + education-loan guidance

## Process

1. **Free first consultation** - 30-45 minute conversation about your goals, academic profile, budget, and timeline. No commitment.
2. **Profile assessment + shortlisting** - We map your profile against destination requirements and produce a shortlist of 3-6 universities with rationale for each.
3. **Application support** - Document checklist, SOP / LOR review, application submission across multiple universities, fee tracking.
4. **Visa + pre-departure** - Visa documentation, financial readiness, mock visa interviews (where applicable), and pre-departure briefing covering accommodation, banking, OSHC / GIC, and travel.

## Who it's for

Class XII students planning for international undergrad, working professionals targeting one-year UK / Australia masters or two-year US programs, and re-applicants who need a stronger second-round strategy. We do not handle K-12 or short-term language courses.

## Is the first counselling session really free?

Yes - the first 30-45 minute conversation is free of cost, in-person at our Coimbatore center or online. We use it to understand your goals before recommending any service package. There's no obligation to continue.

## How long does the full counselling journey typically take?

From first session to visa-in-hand, most students spend 6-12 months with us. Time depends on your starting point - students with IELTS scores in hand and a clear destination move faster than those still deciding between Australia and Canada.

## What if I've already applied through another consultant?

We can pick up mid-journey for application support, visa processing, or pre-departure - though our value is highest when we're involved from the shortlisting stage. Mention any prior involvement during your first session so we can advise honestly on whether switching makes sense for your case.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do you only work with students from Coimbatore?

No - students from across Tamil Nadu and India work with us. The Coimbatore center is our base; sessions are also offered online to students elsewhere.

### Can KC guarantee admission?

No legitimate consultant can guarantee admission - universities make their own decisions. KC's role is to maximise your odds by matching your profile to the right universities and presenting your application well. If a consultant promises a guaranteed admission, treat it as a red flag.

### What's the cost of full counselling support?

Pricing depends on the service package (destination only, multi-destination, with test prep, etc.). The first consultation is free - we'll share specific pricing during it.

### Can I see KC's past student outcomes?

Yes - we share recent placements (anonymised or with student consent) during the first consultation. Most KC students place at QS top-300 universities; we don't publish lists publicly because outcomes vary by intake and profile.

### How is online counselling different from in-person?

Content is identical - same shortlisting framework, same document review, same application support. Online sessions use video conferencing with screen-sharing for document review. Most students do a mix of both depending on their schedule.
