# Study in Sweden

KC Overseas Coimbatore counsels and places students in Sweden. English-taught master's programmes, research-heavy universities, and free PhD study.

## What does Sweden cost?

PhD positions are funded and carry no tuition, which is the strongest case for Sweden. For taught master's programmes, non-EU students pay roughly EUR 9,000-15,000 a year, and Stockholm living costs sit at the higher end of the European range at EUR 12,000-18,000 a year. These are the two figures we have researched; anything more specific is a counselling conversation.

## What about staying on after you graduate?

Sweden has scaled back the post-study work window it used to offer, so it is a weaker destination for a long job search than the Netherlands or France. It remains strong for research careers and for anyone whose plan runs through a funded PhD rather than a taught master's.

## What can KC do for me here?

Counselling, university selection, application and visa support, as for any destination we serve. We have not published the country-level depth here that our UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and France pages carry, so ask us and we will work through it with you.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is a PhD in Sweden really free?

PhD positions carry no tuition and are normally salaried, which is a different proposition from a taught master's. The competition for them is correspondingly serious, and that is worth planning for early.

### Why is this page shorter than the UK page?

Sweden is a destination we serve but do not currently advertise, so we have not researched it to the same published depth. It is not a sign that we do not work there.
